Flute and Harp

First Lutheran Church

Donations welcome.

The Minnesota Chapter of the American Harp Society is very excited to present a concert featuring the Bell’ Alma Duo. Kathy Kienzle, principal harpist with the Minnesota Orchestra, and Michele Frisch, principal flutist with the Minnesota Opera, will be performing selections from their CDs and will discuss the arrangements for flute and harp, as well as the recording process. Bell’ Alma Duo has become a sought-after and critically lauded chamber group known for its performances of transcriptions, arrangements, and newly commissioned works for flute and harp.

Kathy Kienzle and Michele Frisch founded the Bell’ Alma Duo in 2003 after playing together for many years. Their collaborations have included performances with Minnesota Opera Orchestra, Dale Warland Singers, World Choral Symposium, The Schubert Club, and many other chamber and recital settings. In 2006, the Duo released their first CD, “O Bell’ Alma, Music from the Opera” to critical acclaim, followed by “La Belle Vie, French Opera Fantasie” in 2008. The Duo has been invited to perform concerts in New York, Amsterdam, Tacoma, Kansas City, Minneapolis, and on National Public Radio as guests of The National Flute Association, World Harp Congress and American Harp Society. The newest CD, released in late 2011, “Bella Danza, Music of the Dance” has already sold
over 600 copies and has been on NPR playlists in Minneapolis, NY, LA, Cincinnati, Houston, Boston, and other markets as well.
