An opportunity for 7th through 12th grade flute students to perform in a flute choir setting which utilizes all members of the flute family. Music is divided up among all Honors Flute Choir members so that everyone has an opportunity to play different parts. Members receive their music in advance and are expected to perform after one rehearsal earlier on the day of the Concert at the Flute Choir Showcase.

Dr. Paula Gudmundson, Assistant Professor of Flute at the University of Minnesota Duluth will be the 2020 Honors Flute Choir Conductor.
Alto, Bass, and Contrabass flutes are provided at the Honors Flute Choir Rehearsal for student use. Students who would like to play these Low Flutes receive instruction about them before the start of rehearsal.
No audition is required, but students should be at an advanced playing level. Students are required to have an active UMFA membership + pay a $15 registration fee to participate in the Honors Flute Choir.
UMFA Teachers are invited to nominate interested students by submitting the online Honors Flute Choir Registration Form by 11:59 PM on Friday, January 31, 2020.
