UMFA is a 501c-3 nonprofit organization and donations are tax-deductible. There are many ways to support UMFA. 

  • Become a member. Membership comes with benefits, and your dues help to fund UMFA's ongoing operations.
  • Partner with UMFA. UMFA's corporate partners are critical to our mission. UMFA will work with you to design a partner package that works well for your organization.
  • Become an UMFA Volunteer. We love our volunteers! Donate your time and talent to help advance UMFA's mission. We have opportunities to join our Board, and we need volunteers for specific events. Contact our Volunteer Coordinator for more information. 
  • Contribute to UMFA. UMFA accepts donations to either the General Fund, or Scholarship Fund. Our partner organizations, the MusicLink Foundation and Hopewell Music Cooperative North, will accept instrument donations as well (see below). General Operating Fund

UMFA provides a variety of programming and resources for its members, including Flute Fest (with renowned guest artists and clinicians), Flute Choir Showcase, Honors Flute Choir, Parlor Concerts, master classes, a music lending library, a regular newsletter, and low flute rentals.  Your donation will help UMFA to continue its mission of providing these resources for flutists.


Scholarship Fund

UMFA maintains a scholarship fund to help support flute students of all ages and playing levels in the Upper Midwest.  Students must demonstrate financial need and commitment to their musical education.  Visit here for more details about the program.  Your donation will help remove barriers to valuable educational opportunities for deserving flute students.


Instrument Donations

Do you have an old instrument (flute or non-flute) that you would like to pass on to a deserving student?  Tax-deductible instrument donations are accepted by UMFA’s partner organizations, Hopewell Music Cooperative North and MusicLink Foundation.
