Membership

Your membership is the most impactful way to support UMFA's mission. 

Benefits

We welcome flutists of all ages, levels and skills from the Twin Cities and the Upper Midwest region. Benefits of membership include, but are not limited to:

Eligibility

Any person (even if you are not a current flute player) is eligible to apply for UMFA membership.

Term and Renewal

  • Membership becomes active upon receipt of dues payment.
  • Membership remains active for one (1) year from the join date.
  • Membership may be renewed on an annual basis, and will remain active so long as membership dues are paid and current. 
  • If membership lapses due to non-payment of dues, membership benefits expire on the day following the last day of the paid membership term. 
  • Renewal and payment would be required in order to reinstate benefits and access to the UMFA website member portal.

    Levels and Pricing

    UMFA maintains the following individual membership levels. Prices are reviewed regularly and are subject to change. Any changes to pricing will be communicated to membership in advance. Corporate sponsorship information may be found here. 

    • Adult - $45
    • Senior (ages 55 and over) - $35
    • Student - $25

    Member Portal Access

    Members can log in to the website to access the following resources:
    • Read the latest UMFA Newsletter and browse previous issues of the Newsletter.
    • Reset password or set password for new members (help)
    • Update your own contact information (help)
    • Access the current private member directory to search for other members and their contact info
    • Option to be included in the Teacher Directory (which is publicized to area band and orchestra directors)
    • Register for events - go to the event page, select the event, click the register button, click new registration and follow the directions
    • Renew membership (manual or online payment available) (help)

    MEMBERSHIP Application/RENEWAL

    There are three ways to apply for or renew your membership.

    OPTION 1 (PREFERRED): Use our online application form (below) and complete your payment online. Your membership is active immediately after payment is confirmed.

    OPTION 2: Download, complete and scan our offline Membership form, and email it to our Treasurer. An online invoice will be generated for you via QuickBooks. Your membership is active after successful payment against the invoice.

    OPTION 3: Download, complete, and mail in the Membership form. Our mailing address is below, and all checks must be made payable to UMFA. This is the longest process and may result in delays in activation of your membership.
