about Flute fest

Flute Fest is an annual UMFA event dedicated to our love of the flute. Each year we feature an inspiring guest artist, who typically gives a masterclass for selected flutists and performs a recital.

The final round of the Young Artist Competition takes place at Flute Fest, as does the Laudie Porter Memorial Scholarship Competition and the  Adult Amateur Competition.

The day includes recitals, discussions and workshops, as well as opportunities for participation, so bring your flute! It is also a fabulous day to shop for flutes and flute music from our many knowledgeable exhibitors. Those who prefer to spend the day listening will delight in the concerts and recitals, including our Rising Stars Recitals, dedicated to our youngest students. Join our flute community!
