The flute has been a part of the Irish traditional music scene for centuries, but the way the instrument is played and the style it is expected to play in can be a big mystery to the classically trained flutist. During this workshop we will talk about the Irish traditional approach to the flute and how to sound authentic, learn specifics about the style and how to do some of the typical ornaments, and have a lot of fun playing tunes! This workshop is participatory, so have your flute (regular or Irish style) and/or whistle (in D) and get ready to have fun!
