The Upper Midwest Flute Association and the Schmitt Music Flute Gallery are excited to host a FREE Make Music Day event open to the public on June 21, 2024. Make Music Day began in 1982 with a simple vision: free music for all. Over 40 years later, Make Music Day is celebrated in more than 120 countries by musicians of all ages and all abilities.
Community-building is a shared pillar of UMFA and The Flute Gallery, and we are thrilled to collaborate on Make Music Day with a Community Flute Choir. Flute players of all ages and abilities are invited to participate in a Community Flute Choir performance on Friday, June 21 at Schmitt Music’s flagship store in Bloomington, MN. This year, we are pleased to welcome Dr. Janet Heukeshoven as the ensemble's guest conductor!
