The Upper Midwest Flute Association is accepting proposals for performers and presenters for the 2025 UMFA Flute Fest.

Flute Fest is an opportunity for flutists of all ages and ability levels to learn more about playing the flute. The event will be held in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Saturday, April 12th, 2025. Opportunities for remote participation via livestream may be available.

We welcome performers and presenters of all backgrounds and will give preference to proposals that are interactive, appeal to a broad audience, and welcome and highlight the contributions of BIPOC, LGBTQ+, women, and other marginalized populations in our flute community.

Requirements:

  1. Must be a current UMFA member.
  2. Submit proposal by Sunday, February 1st, 2025 at 11:59 PM. Click the "Register" button on the left side of this screen  to begin your application.
  3. Those who have been selected to perform or present will prepare a 50-minute event.
  4. Multiple submissions are permitted.

In the registration form, you will need to provide the following information:

  1. Title of your proposal
  2. Type of presentation or performance
  3. Target audience
  4. Description of your proposal
  5. Brief description of your proposal for the program book (100 words or fewer)

Submission Deadline:  February 1st, at 11:59 PM

Proposal decisions will be sent via email on or before February 15th, 2025.
