Did you know that UMFA has a need-based scholarship program? This program, in accordance with UMFA’s Mission Statement “…To do all such other acts, support all such other programs and promote all such other educational activities that will stimulate interest in, appreciation for, and participation in the flute in the Upper Midwest”, is intended for flute students of any age who are experiencing financial barriers to their musical education. Both the student and their teacher must be current UMFA members to be eligible.
Whether you are a long-time UMFA member or new to our organization, please consider becoming more involved! You can volunteer at whatever level is convenient for you - either helping for just a few hours at an event or for a specific task, or helping on a more regular basis as one of our coordinators or committee chairs. Some of the positions that are now open are Volunteer Coordinator, Newsletter Editor, and NFA 2017 Local Planning Committee. If you would like to be more involved in our organization, or if you would like details about these positions and others, please contact our President, Trudi Anderson, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
