About
This epic virtual flute concert is a fundraising event to benefit UMFA's flute student Scholarship Program. The scholarship program provides assistance for flute students who demonstrate financial need, and funds are used to help cover the costs of private lessons, master classes, summer music camps, or flute pedagogy training.
Advanced students and adult flutists are invited to participate in a virtual flute choir performance of Judy Nishimura's arrangement of Three Nutcracker Suite Dances . Registered participants will receive sheet music and a conducting video to play along with while recording their part. Individual video submissions will be compiled to create an ensemble performance which will serve as the finale of a special live streamed fundraiser on UMFA's YouTube Channel. All proceeds will go towards the UMFA scholarship fund to expand access to flute opportunities to students in the Upper Midwest!
Participation
C Flutes and alto flutes will be included in the video. Sheet music and instructions will be emailed to participants within one business day. The last day to sign up is Friday, November 13th.
