Flute Fest 2026 Request for Proposals

The Upper Midwest Flute Association is accepting proposals for performers and presenters for the 2026 UMFA Flute Fest.

Flute Fest is an opportunity for flutists of all ages and ability levels to learn more about playing the flute. The event will be held in Maplewood, Minnesota on Saturday, April 11th, 2026. Opportunities for remote participation via livestream may be available.

We welcome performers and presenters of all backgrounds and will give preference to proposals that are interactive, appeal to a broad audience, and welcome and highlight the contributions of BIPOC, LGBTQ+, women, and other marginalized populations in our flute community.

Requirements:

  1. Submit proposal by the deadline Saturday February 21st , 2026 at 11:59 PM. Click the "Register" button on the left side of this screen  to begin your application.
  2. Those who have been selected to perform or present will prepare a 50-minute event.
  3. Multiple submissions are permitted.

In the registration form, you will need to provide the following information:

  1. Title of your proposal
  2. Type of presentation or performance
  3. Target audience
  4. Description of your proposal
  5. Brief description of your proposal for the program book (100 words or fewer)
